Heirloom - Midway

Isn’t that dessert gorgeous?!! We’ll get to it in a minute...

If you’re looking for a small, romantic, “French-inspired” restaurant, Heirloom in Midway is a perfect choice. The menu isn’t extensive, but every choice within is a delight. Today, we enjoyed the fish tacos, lightly tempura fried with cabbage and aioli. These are great when you want a hearty lunch but aren’t looking for a food-coma-heavy meal.

It wasn’t on the menu today, but whenever the tomato soup is in season, it’s a must In fact, every soup Heirloom offers is an explosion of puréed flavor. The pea and fennel is the latest we sampled.

Now, for that dessert. Maisie’s expression says it all! This one is “cookies and cream,” which is a crust filled with Oreo mousse and white chocolate chantilly topped with chocolate cake, chocolate crumbles and cocoa powder. You want to save room for this one!
